ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops clinical education programs which support organizational initiatives.
In collaboration with appropriate shareholders implements comprehensive clinical training, competencies, and clinical safety programs.
Develops, leads, refines and monitors new employee training onboarding including department training and preceptor programs.
Develops and implements “train the trainer” programs as appropriate.
Responsible for creating standardized processes within their scope of clinical education.
Collaborates with shareholders in creating “standard work” for positions within their scope.
Acts as a resource for Practice Managers as appropriate for their department clinical staff which may include developing remedial training.
May act as a resource to operations for development of practice protocols.
Teaches CPR class as directed.
Serves as a TB Instructor as directed.
Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certification/License:
Bachelor’s degree or previous related clinical experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Required: RN license. Possess or willing to ascertain the following: TB Instructor and Administrator Certification, CPR Instructor and Administrator Certification, ACLS and PALS.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proven experience developing training programs for and working with diverse clinical staff. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and creative abilities. Prior experience developing clinical training programs with a passion and commitment to patient safety, quality, and staff development. Strong organizational skills and demonstrated successful track record of working independently while taking on increased or multiple responsibilities. Maturity to work under pressure to meet established deadlines and to handle issues that may arise with personnel, administration, and physicians. Committed to lifelong learning and an excellent conveyor of knowledge. Fluency with office related applications such as Word, Excel, etc.
