Oversees 3rd party plan processing, trouble shooting, and reconciliation regarding online processing of pharmacy claims.
Responsible for providing friendly and efficient pharmacy care to all customers.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in order to maximize efficiency of the pharmacy, minimize errors, and promote excellent service.
Provides counsel to patients on prescription and non-prescription medications.
Provides drug information to physician offices via phone, fax, and email.
Assures compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
Obtains authorization for pharmacy services as requested; validate insurance coverage and communication with patients.
Perform computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to: patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
Supervises activity of a pharmacy technician.
Responsible for overseeing the prescription filling process including Drug Utilization Review, interactions, etc.
Responsible for inventory including return of outdated/recalled medications.
Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
Qualifications
Education/Certification/License:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
Active and unrestricted Indiana Pharmacist license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous experience managing Pharmacy operations is required.
Familiarity with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Ability to effectively collaborate with providers and clinical staff.
