Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares paperwork for exams.
  • Completes paperwork after exam and presents to Radiologist in a professional and organized manner.
  • Prepares room and patient for exam.
  • This includes changing clothes, explaining procedure, obtaining history, using proper sized film, and applying pads and cleaning machine for next use.
  • Keeps room stocked and notifies Front Desk Coordinator of the need to order more.
  • Takes part in QC program for FDA/MQSA requirements.
  • Maintains CEU’s and license.
  • Keeps records in mammo book updated.
  • Takes initiative to help out in the department with other duties as time allows between mammo patients.
  • Maintains scheduled appointment times.
  • Performs duties outlined in General Radiology Technologist position description.
  • Provides coverage in other areas when required (satellites, front desk, etc.).
  • Digitizes/scans incoming films/reports and imports studies into PAC’s from E-Film program.
  • Locates and hangs prior mammography films, scans previous report.
  • Requests prior films internally/externally for comparison.
  • Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
  • Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/License:

  • ARRT Registered Technologist.
  • Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Indiana.
  • Mammography certification.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have a good knowledge of general radiology procedures.
  • Should be proficient in the use of computers and
    digital radiography systems, including RIS and PACS.
  • Must be friendly, attentive, helpful, and show concern for others.
  • Must have a positive attitude/outlook.
  • Must take initiative, be able to problem solve, and be self-motivated.
  • Must consistently meet expectations of patients and/or customers and make satisfaction a top priority.
  • Must have
    good telephone and communication skills.
  • Must be able to exhibit tact and professionalism in working with others.
  • Must be a team player and help to work to move the departmental and organizational goals forward.
