Hours: Full-Time; 40 Hours weekly: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Regularly interacts and communicates with physicians, peers, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate departmental operations.
  • Ensures follow up on physician and staff requests, either executing directly or triaging as appropriate.
  • Gathers data when necessary and participates in department’s quality assurance and improvement plan.
  • Works closely with the Mammography Technologists, Providers, Physicists and Modality Engineers to ensure the department operates within compliance of MQSA regulations.
  • Coordinates activities/tasks to maintain compliance and accreditation with the Mammography Quality Standards Act(MQSA) and the American College of Radiology Services(ACR).
  • Performs job responsibilities for Radiologic Technologist and/or Mammographer.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled departmental and modality-specific meetings.
  • Assists in administrative duties with regards to RIS and PACS oversee patient information is scanned into RIS so Radiologists can read images and completes studies in RIS.
  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Acts as the initial point person for the staff in the department.
  • Flex staffing for demand across locations to ensure optimal coverage.
  • Exhibits ability to handle just-in-time problem solving.
  • Ensures adequate inventory is maintained to continue uninterrupted workflow.
  • Provide modality-specific training for current and new staff.
  • Work with team to identify and monitor KPIs and report those metrics to Supervisor/Director.
  • Perform QC on machines and ensure timely preventive and repair maintenance.
  • Communicates with individuals internally and externally as needed to fulfill daily responsibilities.
  • May handle initial patient concerns in absence or unavailability of Supervisor/Director.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, uncluttered, non-disruptive work environment conducive to focused productivity.
  • Willingly accepts other duties as assigned.
  • Works collaboratively with the department management Supervisor/Director to develop and implement process improvement for the assigned area

  • Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to workers to maintain optimal work flow in a safe environment.
  • Ensures a safe environment for patients and team members.
  • Become proficient in all procedures performed at The South Bend Clinic’s ASC and trains staff accordingly
  • Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
  • Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.

Qualifications

 

Education/Certification/License: 

  • ARRT Registered –Radiology Services and Mammography Radiologic Technologist license in the State of Indiana.
  • CPR certified

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to work effectively with and provide direction for the Breast Care Team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Strong Customer Service and Patient Care Skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Quality Control testing requirements and documentation.
  • Must take initiative, be able to problem solve, and be self-motivated.
  • Must be a team player and help to work to move the departmental and organizational goals forward.
