Academic Year Schedule

  • Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Thursday: 9:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Summer Schedule

  • Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Thursday: 9:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees 3rd party plan processing, trouble shooting, and reconciliation regarding online processing of pharmacy claims.
  • Responsible for providing friendly and efficient pharmacy care to all customers.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in order to maximize efficiency of the pharmacy, minimize errors,
    and promote excellent service.
  • Manage medication therapy by checking patient therapy changes, medication gaps, completing medication review
    with patients, and completing TIPs per insurance requests.
  • Partnering with the Population Health department on initiatives, insurance questions, etc.
  • Provides counsel to patients on prescription and non-prescription medications.
  • Provides drug information to physician offices via phone, fax, and email.
  • Assures compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Utilize the inventory management system in order to maintain proper inventory levels reduce partial filled prescriptions, process received orders, wholesaler returns, and expired returns.
  • Obtains authorization for pharmacy services as requested; validate insurance coverage and communication with patients.
  • Perform computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to: patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
  • Supervises activity of a pharmacy technician.
  • Responsible for overseeing the prescription filling process including Drug Utilization Review, interactions, etc.
  • Responsible for inventory including return of outdated/recalled medications.
  • Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
  • Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
  • Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/License:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree. Current Pharmacy and state licensure are required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Previous experience managing Pharmacy operations is required. Retail experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
