Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday; 7:30 AM–4:00 PM or 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Option for four 10-hour shifts available.

Responsibilities

Provides non-clinical operational support for the mammography and breast imaging program. Coordinates patient follow-up, supplemental breast imaging, and dense or high-risk breast tracking while supporting compliance with MQSA (FDA) and ACR guidelines. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and frequent communication with patients and providers.

 

Scope & Impact

· Supports a highly regulated diagnostic imaging service line with federal and accreditation requirements

· Direct impact on patient safety, timely diagnosis, compliance metrics, and audit readiness

· Coordinates care among patients, radiologists, technologists, navigators, and support staff

· Does not perform clinical interpretation, diagnosis, or treatment decisions

 

Essential Functions

· Track dense breast, high-risk, recall, and biopsy patients using Epic mammography tracking tools

· Schedule additional mammography views, breast ultrasound, MRI, biopsies, and follow-up imaging according to protocols

· Ensure timely patient follow-up and escalate delayed or missed appointments

· Support compliance with MQSA (FDA), ACR, and dense breast notification requirements

· Enter and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record

· Generate and track patient result letters and biopsy outcomes

· Answer patient calls and voicemails and provide professional, empathetic customer service

· Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

 

Decision-Making Level

Makes independent scheduling and prioritization decisions within established department protocols. Escalates complex clinical or operational concerns to the Mammography Manager or radiologist. This position does not have supervisory or budgetary authority.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

  • Customer service, telephone, or administrative experience required; medical, radiology, mammography, or women’s health experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and use specialized EMR and tracking systems
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
